This tool calculates how much space is needed for the number of guinea pigs in your herd. Keep in mind this is the minimum size requirement, and bigger is always better. Providing a cage that is too small can cause fighting, odor problems, dampness and disease.

Note: Keeping more than two male guinea pigs is not typically recommended since they will need a very large (and often impractical) amount of space to live together peacefully. Depending on their personalities, they may not tolerate the minimum size standard given here.

This tool will calculate the area of a rectagular guinea pig cage. For L-shaped cages: measure the area in two separate rectangles (be careful not to overlap your measurements) and add the results given here.

This tool estimates the number of C&C grids needed for your project. Please keep in mind that although having a bottom is not always necessary, we do recommend one for added safety and cage stability.
